The Hunter Valley has experienced one of its hottest and driest starts to the year........
Singleton has recorded just 47.2 mm of rain for January and February compared to 136.4 mm at the start of 2010.
The neighbouring Scone fared a little better in the rain stakes receiving a total of 60.8mm for January and February but that figure is significantly down on the previous year when the area recorded 155.4mm...
Marriwa's start to the new year has netted 48.2mm of rain, compared with 222.6mm for the same period last year, while Jerry's Plains seems to be one of the wettest spots in the region, recording 122.3mm in January and February....well down on the start of 2010 when the area recorded 183.7mm of rain.
At the more coastal location of Gloucester, 134.6mm was recordd in January and February compared to 244.8mm in the previous year...."
