Before lighting your fire, you will need to prepare a containment area so that your fire does not escape your property, notify your neighbours and Fire Control on 6575 1200 24 hours before you light up your intended fire. You will need to register your burn online or via the Permit Line 02 65751212. Even when it is not the BFDP, April to August, these conditions still apply.

When attending a fire, always wear full protective clothing, gloves, heavy shoes, goggles and a hat and have a means of controlling your fire such as water and machinery.

Never leave a fire unattended and if a fire does escape, it is essential to call Triple
Zero immediately so that emergency services can respond effectively to minimise any possible damage.

On days of a TOTAL FIRE BAN, no fire of any nature is to be lit in the open. To check the Fire Danger Ratings for your area or for any other information
