The power has been out at Putty since 8.30pm on Wednesday 14 January due to storms and Ausgrid has no restore time. This is not just a local issue as power is out in areas of The Hunter and Sydney. See Ausgrid’s Power update.
As per this website, 143 Putty residents are without power unless they have solar and battery storage or a generator.
Council can escalate concerns to NSW Reconstruction Authority if there are any major concerns. If residents would like to reach out to Council, please email recovery@singleton.nsw.gov.au.
Colo Heights Service Station has power and fuel.
Both the mobile tower and the landline telephone exchange only work for 12-48 hours without mains power so there is currently no communication available unless you have solar and batteries or a generator with a satellite connection and a mobile with WiFi calling.
To conserve fuel and keep fridges, freezers and drinking water pumps going, run your generator for 2 hours morning and evening.
Kathy McKenzie is in touch with Singleton Council and has solar power with batteries and back up generator so you can call her any time at 0408 650 851 if you need assistance.
