Bastille day is back at Putty Hall! Last year was a huge success, so we are doing it again! 4th edition already!
Make a booking and join us for a French food fest at Putty Hall. Lunch will begin at 1.00pm and finish sometime….. later. Cost is $40 per person.
The meal will be followed by fireworks!
Come along and spoil yourself with two traditional French dishes from the Alps, the Raclette and Tartiflette! Perfect for a cold winter lunch!
WHAT IS RACLETTE?
Traditionally the melting of the cheese happened in front of an open fire, with the big piece of cheese facing the heat. The melted cheese was then scraped off and added to other food available at the time.
Now, the modern way of serving raclette involves an electric table-top grill with small pans, known as coupelles.
What is TARTIFLETTE?
Tartiflette is a dish from Savoy in the French Alps. It is made with potatoes, reblochon cheese, lardons and onions. A splash of white wine can be added too.
The $40 p/p gets you an entree of Foie gras with toast and salad and the main with Tartiflette and/or Raclette cheese, a large and various assortment of cured meats, cooked potatoes and cheese which melts under the grill while you chat and share a drink with family and friends. Mulled wine will be provided as a perfect addition to your meal and the hall bar will be open with other drink options.
Booking is essential. (This year no need to specify if you want raclette or tartiflette as we will just do a mix so you can pick whatever you like or try both!)
